Lou Wetmore Announces Hickory Mayoral Bid

Lou Wetmore announced his candidacy for mayor of Hickory on Tuesday, according to a press release.

Wetmore said in a phone interview he has lived in Hickory for 44 years and owned the corrugated box manufacturing company Triad Packaging until 2008.

Since then, Wetmore has worked as a financial advisor for OmniStar Financial Group.

 

Between 2013 and 2017, Wetmore served on the North Carolina Board of Transportation.

Improving infrastructure, recruiting business and restoring pride in the city are core issues of Wetmore’s candidacy, according to the release.
