Monday July 23 found more than 120 AICC member golfers teeing it up at the beautiful St. Charles Country Club west of Chicago. This annual event is always one of AICC’s most anticipated because of the great location, the great golf course, the networking opportunities and the wonderful meal served afterward. For some, the incredible steak dinner must be the attraction as there were more than 150 people in attendance for the post-golf meal.
AICC’s Region 6 Board of Directors, Guy Ockerlund of Ox Box; Clay Shaw of Batavia Container; Shari Saeger of Automatan; Nelva Walz of Michigan City Paper Box; Tim Engle of Haire Group; and Keith Reiter of K.B. Reiter work tirelessly to ensure such an outstanding event. Their meticulous planning makes this outing, and more importantly, this fund-raiser, a success on many fronts. A special thank you to Clay Shaw for hosting the event.
The day funds regional activities, but most important among these is the Region 6 Scholarship. The Region 6 Scholarship goes to the son or daughter of an AICC member company employee to assist them in their educational pursuits. This years’ scholarship winner, Claire McGillem, is a worthy candidate. Claire graduated Carelton College in 2013 with a degree in Political Science and International Relations. She is currently a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy candidate at the Fletcher School at Tufts University. She is studying international security, development and post-conflict reconstruction in Africa. Claire, a native of Barrington, IL has traveled the world donating her time and energy towards these noble pursuits.
