Merrill Industries - Promotion of the New Sales Manager!

We are very pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. John Clough to the position of Sales Manager for Merrill Industries, effective on Monday April 8, 2019. John joined Merrill in the summer of 2017, and has served us well as an Account Representative, bringing on substantial new work for the company. He came to Merrill after 38 years at International Paper Co., where he worked in production, customer service, design and sales, where he exceeded his sales goals each year. Three years prior to IP, John worked for Jefferson Smurfit, so his corrugated career now spans 43 years and counting.

John has extensive training in Professional Selling Skills (PSS), Advanced Professional Selling, as well as Communication and Leadership training. He has led sales teams in both large and medium sized organizations, and his depth and breadth of knowledge in the corrugated industry will serve Merrill’s customers and prospects with great care and diligence.

He will be responsible for managing and growing Merrill’s selling activities, reporting to me, and will work with me on Merrill’s marketing work, including our website, monthly email blasts, social media campaigns, and trade shows and industry events. Merrill’s account representatives – David Szewczul in CT and Tammy Sardinha in RI – will report to John, as well as our inside Customer Service Representatives, Sheri Bell and Carla Saroce.

John resides in Woodstock, CT with his wife Karen. He has 2 children, Tiffany and Tyler, and is the proud grandparent of Vivian, 3, and Ronan, 1.
