Notice of Passing Ross Kirk, Past President of AICC Canada

Dear AICC Members, 

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Ross Fredrick Kirk on May 5, 2023, at the age of 76. 

Ross served as AICC Canada’s President in 1993. Ross was truly devoted to AICC Canada. He was an active board member for more than 25 years and continued to be an active member on many of our committees well into his retirement. Ross helped build and develop AICC Canada into what it is today. 

Ross had an extremely successful corrugated career spanning over 45 years. Corrugated fiber was truly in Ross’s blood, starting his career at age 20, working for his uncle at Kirk Containers, which later became Brock Containers. Ross developed his sales and management skills while working at several corrugated manufacturers throughout Ontario. Ross retired from McLeish Corr-A-Box in 2012. 

I first met Ross almost 20 years ago while attending an AICC event. Ross was always there with advice and a willingness to lend a hand, regardless of the task. His knowledge of our professional trade Association and the industry as a whole were unparalleled, making him a true mentor for the newcomers in the Association and the industry. I have very fond memories and am grateful for the years I spent with Ross on our board. 

Please keep Ross’s wife Linda; his children Paula and Kathleen; and grandchildren Hailey and Jade in your prayers. 

A service to celebrate the life of Ross will be held at Legacy Funeral Home, 55 Cedar Pointe Drive, Barrie on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1:00 p.m.

The industry and Association have lost a dear friend, he will be sorely missed.
