RISI reports that based on data from the Fibre Box Association (FBA), in the second quarter, United States corrugated box shipments increased on an actual and average-week basis compared with the first quarter.
Second-quarter actual shipments totaled 96.3 billion ft2, 3.2% more than first quarter’s 93.3 billion ft2 and up 1.1% vs second-quarter 2023’s 95.3 billion in actual shipments, the Fibre Box Association reported on July 26.
On an average-week basis, with one more shipping day in the second quarter this year compared to last, June 2024 average-week shipments increased 1.9% year-over-year, May’s total was up 0.7% year-over-year, and April’s dropped 4.0% year-over-year.
