The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) and Fibre Box Association (FBA) reported containerboard & box data for the 4th Quarter of 2024, along with the AF&PA's Boxboard data on 1/31/25. Overall, Q4 box shipments were down 0.2% on both an actual and per workday. This on the heels of a 0.6% actual increase in 3Q24 against a comparative of +0.4% in 4Q23. Production grew 1.2% and exports fell by 11.2%. As for boxboard, production was up 5% total including 13.6% growth in solid bleached sulfate (SBS) and 3.1% growth in uncoated recycled board (URB).
